I watched Ben Shapiro's podcast with Gina and while I think Ben is a clown, she gave some interesting insights on her situation. I guess it's hard to tell what celebrities are truly like based on their interviews I mean going back to Armie he came across super charismatic while in reality being a total psycho lol... But my impression is Gina is a genuine person. Apparently she was not politically inclined at all until recently which may factor into some of her ignorance. But honestly it seemed like she was targeted for no reason except very possibly her political beliefs. Pretty much everything she said was misinterpreted. Maybe she could've been more eloquent or even kept her mouth shut but regardless of what she said or posted, she never held any ill will or hate towards anyone. Yet Disney/Lucasfilm totally hounded her. She was forced into a zoom call with a bunch of LGBT people, half of who were trying to cancel her, to I guess get some sensitivity training or something. She was also pressured into making statements she didn't want to because they would not have been genuine. And apparently she found out she had been fired the same way everyone else did through the news and social media which is wild. From what she says I don't think DLF's HR people really handled this well nor were they very sympathetic. Because she didn't play the game or follow the narrative, she was targeted even though people on the other side do similar stuff and don't get the same treatment. They are completely scrubbing Cara Dune too, her toys were cancelled and her image is being erased from a lot of other stuff and I think that is extreme. First, separate the character from the actor, second what she did was not even that bad in the big picture it's not like she raped or murdered someone or anything remotely illegal.... Stuff like that is more worthy of getting dropped. But she knew what was going to happen and decided to stand up for herself and others faced with similar situations and for that I have to respect her. I think Gina is overall a good person who didn't deserve this and a I feel that a lot of factors were not very fair towards her. I think if Gina was a bit more savvy of Disney and LF's overall political stances (no matter how hypocritical they can be) she'd probably have played it a little quieter. Yeah if she just did what they told her to do and used their apologies and whatnot, she probably could've kept her job. Although who knows maybe that still would've been a short term situation if people in the company were still gunning for her. But regardless it seems she knew her choices and decided to be true to herself and her principles even if that meant being let go. Something else interestingly related is on YouTube KK gave some speech for the Oscars relating to strong women and whatever and the dislike to like ratio was crazy and the comments had to be shut down because every single one was calling out the hypocrisy with the Gina situation lol. Definitely looks like there is a lot of support for her though I doubt DLF walk back their action nor would she be likely to go back to them

I'm not sure if they took the video off entirely it got so bad I think it was a poor move overall as it just sets them back once again after building up some goodwill with the fans after TCW's revival and Mando. I just don't see LF making a proper recovery overall until a change of leadership is established, specifically a leadership that more or less does the opposite of what Kennedy's done throughout her tenure...

That ProBoards PM was a little concerning, I thought it was going to say this forum is being taken down. Doesn't seem to be the case, but it makes me wonder if the true death of this site will be a random pulling of the plug by the company, not us.

That's how I'm envisioning a Treasure Island prequel I'm not sure if Jim was in the show but yeah Long John is a big character but I'd say Captain Flint has the biggest role at least in the first two seasons. But it's more of a big group show with a couple different plotlines. It also incorporates some of the famous pirates such as Blackbeard, Charles Vane, Calico Jack, etc. idk if the book has any real pirates

Apparently Texas has lifted all its restrictions and I'm just wondering what made them want to drop them all of a sudden? Because the state hasn’t suffered enough. We are on the verge of greatness. When it comes to Covid. We just need to hold out for a few more months. Also on the pro boards situation. I think what we can do is designate another forum or something as a back up. I know I don’t post that often but I would hate to one day never be able to talk to any of you guys again. Any thoughts? Also as some of you know I am on the Jedi Council forum and today I was talking about the old episode guides and it turns out someone there used to post on there. It was weird. M Anyway think about my back up plan idea.

Rant:
There is no good place to talk about Star Wars on Reddit. Saltierthancrait has officially gone to shit... STC was the one sub where you didn't have to like everything and wouldn't get attacked for discussing things you disliked. But while the other subs display "consume don't question" attitudes, STC has become "hate don't question". Idk what happened, maybe Fandom Menace took over the place or something but there is just so much hatred and anger over literally everything now.
Any news relating to Disney/Star Wars comes out and people's first instinct is to be outraged. People also make some of the most low effort and pointless "criticisms" yet get thousands of upvotes and multiple awards. If you try to be rational you are downvoted for not blindly hating. In fact, it seems there's not a single rational person on the sub. The amount of confirmation bias and reaching is crazy. "Ahsoka said the Force requires training that means Favreau and Filoni hate Rey and the sequels and the sequels are going to be decanonized." This is so delusional but people won't stop seeing what they want to see. Maybe Ahsoka just gave a normal fucking explanation of the force which is consistent with all other Star Wars material.
I really feel like these people don't even like Star Wars honestly. Many have already written off every single upcoming project when there is zero information about them. Like at least wait to see something before making your mind up. They romanticize and put on a pedestal pre-Disney Star Wars and think it was perfect whilst scrutinizing every minor inconsistency in new canon. Let's be real, old EU was not perfect. Hell I wouldn't even consider the all 6 movies perfect. There was good and bad just like there is now. But people are mad because they need to hate Disney.
Something else that annoys me is how the sub constantly shits on High Republic. The last two days have been nothing but garbage rant posts about HR's rock character. Okay it was a stupid gag the writers tried. I don't like it either but it's not a big deal. It doesn't ruin Star Wars. These people don't even actually care about HR. A whole of 5 people on the sub might've actually read it. Everyone else just needs something to hate. I'm not saying HR is great, personally I don't like it but at least this is a judgement I've made after I've read it. These ignorant people pretending like their uninformed opinions are valid piss me off.
Can't post any of this there because the mods constantly remove shit even if it's harmless. I had to block one of the mods who I think is a total asshole. He always writes gigantic essays with linked sources and bolds, italicizes, or capitalizes phrases. He goes so hard in arguments over the dumbest stuff and seems to feel he is some superior genius who is always correct. Fucking annoys me lol. The mods also seem to have added some crap Reddit spam filter so now none of my posts show up which is what happened on the Mandalorian sub (also garbage btw). No one should use that filter it is so trash it filters out genuine high effort posts while leaving shitty memes and stuff.
But yeah I'm so done with that place. I don't think that negativity is healthy at all. Honestly I'm kinda over talking about the sequels. All arguments have been exhausted (which may be why people are scraping the bottom of the barrel now) and I'm just tired of discussing the same stuff. Whether it be circlejerking in an echo chamber or arguing with people who aren't going to change their minds. I wish there was a sub that was largely anti sequels but not anti Disney where there could be decent discussion and not just nonstop outrage. I've thought about making something like that but I doubt it would be successful and would probably be a waste of time.

Never in my life have I ever even tried Reddit and I think one of the reasons why I never did was hearing you tell one story after the next of how unappealing it is there I think you're doing the right thing to put your hands in the air and just step back. It's not worth debating with zealots like that. Because they don't look for a debate, or discussion, they look for an endless cycle of validation for their hatred, or love of Disney Star Wars. It's like the fandom's equivalent of an Instagram influencer Problem is everyone doesn't like having their opinions challenged or have holes poked in them as that'll make them insecure and even have to entertain the possibility of admitting they're wrong in some way (you'll be hard pressed to find an online argument end with one side conceding defeat). I mean, you could always try making one and I'd certainly join to show support as I always appreciate someone trying to rally more openminded and rational people. Makes me all the more thankful I found you guys all those years ago as this is one of the more civil and friendly sects of the Star Wars fandom, even if it has shrunk like my jeans in the dryer

I just finished one week on a vegetarian keto diet... Shit sucks especially when no meat reduces a lot of options. I miss my breads and pasta bruh. But I already lost like 7 pounds (3.17 kilos) which was surprising. Apparently it's "water weight" though and not actual fat... But whatever I think if I can get through another week and have the same results I'll be in a good place my goal is to lose about 15-20 pounds (6-9 kgs)
