Okay, now that my recovery from that near all nighter is over and Flickr's behaving itself at last, I can get to unloading the first batch of my cruddy photos Turns out I made more than I first thought though, so I'll drip feed them through the days. At least the ones that look good enough anyway. First off, Austria's alps and the city of Innsbruck. EDIT 1: next we have more of Innsbruck and its colourful buildings, its mountain range views, its rather cool looking funicular railway stations, pretty red trams and gardens and glimpse of its winter Olympics ski jump. EDIT 2: We're in Italy now with Pisa, Lucca, birds, sleepy birds, hideous chairs, chocolate to die for and a seeming dress code that buildings must be yellow with green blinds. EDIT 3: After a little hiatus, I'm back with Florence, sunsets, weird cars and unsettling statues. EDIT 4: Okay, last update. This time featuring the vineyard countryside and towers of San Gimignano, more birds (including a swallow), more cool cars, Mont Blanc, Geneva and metal chicken. www.flickr.com/photos/110428418@N08/albums/72157697269740141/page1

Nice pictures. Gave me flashbacks to my holiday in Austria like 10 years ago. I had never went much further than just over the Dutch border and seeing mountains for the first time was weird.

Beautiful photos tbh I like seeing the European Architecture the most. The nature is basically looking at Canada. Reminds me of Banff tbh which is in the mountains 5 hours south of me.

Yeah, same here. It made me feel so small and inconsequential. Really makes you understand how giant the world really is. Beautiful photos tbh I like seeing the European Architecture the most. I'm not surprised you say it's like Canada Honestly, I never expected to see so much colour. I thought I would enjoy the scenery for the most part, but I was wrong. Also, I'm starting to get jealous that you have this sort of environment mere hours away from you, while all I get is a load of dull fields

Mind if we carve out some of that landscape and plop it somewhere in Nottinghamshire? Because we really need some sort of pretty scenery

This is a map of urbanized areas in the Netherlands... and the white parts are mostly farmlands or water. It's basically one big city. So we could use some nature here.

Where was that picture of the flowers arranged in that butterfly like shape? It seems familiar but I could be confusing it one of the many other botanical gardens out there lol. And there always seems to be a Lamborghini and Ferrari for renting somewhere... I saw a station like that in Eze, France

If you ever go there, you should definitely check it out. Weirdly that was the only time I saw a Lambo and Ferrari in Italy

But from your pictures Innsbruck seems really nice, would love to visit some day

It was a DSLR, so you get a good rate of quality. So if you take cruddy shots like mine, at least they'll look pretty sharp

Very nice. Man most places in Europe are so pretty... America just doesn't have those architecture styles anywhere

Finally got a chance to look all of these. Amazing stuff, Mav. It doesn't look like anything you can find here, and I should know with how much I've seen. Though some of these fields kinda remind me of Hawaii.
