I haven't seen it but read spoilers. Dang looks like a lot of people died... And this is only the first part....
Maybe I will actually like this one. All the marvel movies are always repetitive and vanilla but if they start killing people off, it might be interesting

Nah it's obvious what they did. Thanos basically "reset" the universe by killing half of the population. However it's clear that in the next movie, Infinity War 2, which comes out next May they will just being everyone back.
They literally killed off everyone except the original Avengers team aka Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye. Oh and Rocket is still alive as well. So what they did is just made it so the original avengers will likely get together for one last ride before probably handing the torch to the new guys. Doctor Strange also peeked into the future and knew there was only one way to win.
Next movie they will bring everyone back that "died" but it will likely require the sacrifice of at least one of the original avengers to do so IMO.
Only marvel movies planned between now and next May are Captain Marvel and a Ant Man sequel, both characters were coincidently not in the film, neither was Hawkeye. So those guys will likely all help next film

Characters prior to the snap are probably staying dead. Those after the snap are obviously coming back, but it's still neat to see the MCU temporarily kill them. This film had a much darker tone to it than all the past ones, and it handled its vast ensemble pretty well.

Loki also might have just faked his own death. Since walking up to someone with a knife is pretty uncharacteristic of him

Too bad only the characters with a sequel planned "died" The cliffhanger left no impact on me.

Since walking up to someone with a knife is pretty uncharacteristic of him I think that one of those two has a chance to return, but I really doubt they would all come back alive. It would almost makes the feats of Thanos pointless, as well as weaken some of the moments in Infinity War. Gamora seems more likely, since she's inside the Soul Stone and is more relevant to the Thanos plot.

Too bad only the characters with a sequel planned "died" The cliffhanger left no impact on me. The ending is somewhat disappointing and lacking in its emotional impact, since the audience knows most of the deaths were not permanent. However, I think more of the enjoyment for most fans is gained through seeing how the Avengers return and manage to "win".

Obviously they’ll bring the people who died at the end back, but I really hope they earn it somehow. Like all of the original Avengers survive. What if they have to sacrifice themselves? (Or at least Iron Man and Captain America)

So I watched a theory video and it looks like time travel will happen in the next Avengers. There's scenes from the set where Iron Man, Cap and Ant-Man are back in New York during the first avengers battle but Tony has grey hair so it's possible like 10-15 years have passed since Infinity War which would give enough time for Tony's child to grow up. Of course all of this would likely be undone when they manage to restore the timeline from prior to Thanos killing everyone I guess.
It seems Loki is gonna be a key figure (2012 Loki) because he was working with Thanos and has intel on him
