Meh, I am not really impressed. I mean it looks great, but that doesn't mean anything. Season 8 of Game of Thrones looked great too... And honestly, so did the Sequels.

I trust Jon Favreau. It looks like he's got a real passion for this stuff and Star Wars especially. I really think season 1 will be a hit. Maybe it'll go down from there like many shows do idk but no need to think about that right now lol. But just getting more gritty Star Wars stuff is nice. I hope the tone doesn't change from what it feels like now

I’m definitely gonna give it a chance bc Filoni and Favreau but honestly Star Wars didn’t excite me anymore. Same. Last Jedi killed my interest in Star Wars. It kind of stuck around for a few more months, especially when they announced the new TCW season last year... but honestly, I don't care that much about that anymore either. But if they can pull-off a good mature Star Wars live-action series I would probably still enjoy that. The question is... can Disney get it done? Their history with Star Wars tells me they can't. |

I am surprised they don't understand that no one cares about the First Order. The sequels are uninteresting movies with a boring story without any depth and underdeveloped characters.
No one cares about the origins of the generic bad guys who are clearly a mix of the Galaxtic Empire and Nazi propoganda material.
The only First Order characters we know are all jokes. With the exception of Kylo Ren, who was likely not involved in the origins.
No one wants to see this Disney. Stick to the bounty hunter stuff and it might be a decent series.

Tbh they really need to do a show explaining the First Order and whatnot. Though maybe this isn’t the one for that. I’m glad they will be explaining stuff just hope it doesn’t detract too much from what the show is mainly about

If they want to have a bounty hunter’s job to be smuggling weapons and ship parts to the Unknown Regions, then fine.
But this should not be in any way a First Order origin story.

But really tho, the biggest thing this show had going for it was how separated it was from the main movies. No, not just the garbage new ones that make the Hobbit look like a masterpiece, but any of them. Not everything should be connected to the main parts of Star Wars. This is a big fucking galaxy, where anything can happen. But lately it's feeling smaller and smaller. And especially since we know where the saga story goes and its not anywhere interesting, it is disappointing that this show decided not to etch out its own part of the galaxy but instead tie back to a conflict (First Order and Resistance) that no one wants to see more of.

After this new trailer, I'm definitely excited for The Mandalorian. There's a lot of raw talent behind this, and episodes are getting GOT-level budgets, so I think this will turn out well. In terms of maturity, I think it falls near the higher end of that compared to the films. It's possible this show might do even more, given the gangster, rugged, and lawless style it seems to be pursuing.

We can also see what seems to be a Droid Gunship and Super Battle Droids in this trailer. I'm curious to see how that plays out. It really appears like they'll be giving lots of nods and lore-expansion within this show that more devoted fans will appreciate.

It might start out kinda dark and gritty but I'm afraid it'll soon be watered down... Disney+ really feels like it's for kids so Mandalorian would not fit in if it was too dark and whatnot

I'm scared about them not committing to the tone too. The trailers give this an utterly magnificent charisma and I just feel injecting even an iota of Rebels', or Resistance's lower aged "charm" for severe lack of a better word, would just spoil it all. Really hoping there's nothing to fear.
