Rook didn’t die in the clone wars finale right? The lady Mando that was with Maul and Saxon. I wonder if she’s the Armorer?

Apparently some are saying that wasn’t a mythosaur…

Bro they did not end this shit with a Looney Tunes transition... So was that it? Is the show over? I have heard about a season 4 but I just cannot see them continuing with Pedro and this seemed like them effectively putting away that character without killing him off.
This episode was so cheesy though like literally all of Gideon's dialogue was making me laugh lol. The Gideon clones were hilarious. Axe flying into space with his jetpack was hilarious. He had enough fuel for that but the other Mandos didn't when chasing the bird? Also what about the big storm?
Why did the TIE fighters just fly past the Mandalorian fighters? That was kind of ridiculous. Also more of a plot hole from last episode but if the magnetic storm stuff interfere with communications, how did that effect the Bo-Katan party only and not Gideon's communications with the shadow council?

Moff "cloning is your obsession not mine" Gideon's whole plan is literally to make a force sensitive clone army. On one hand I am relieved it was not all leading to Snoke. But on the other, it was all so bad that it ultimately didn't matter lol.
The whole season was so messy. It was far closer to BOBF quality than season 1-2 but I think the higher production value helped mask it a little. But I think in some ways their hands were also tied creatively. Like losing Gina, the Rangers show, Pedro not cooperating, and being told (presumably) to bring Grogu back definitely pushed them into a corner that was hard to get out of.
Splicing in elements from Rangers was a bit awkward. Grogu was brought back to not even do anything. All of Din's character arcs were reset. Bo-Katan keeps failing but they keep letting her be the leader.
They destroyed the darksaber without even utilizing it well. What was even the point of it and Din getting it? Gideon's experiments didn't go anywhere, the character didn't set up anything. The Mythosaur didn't go anywhere, everyone straight up forgot about it. And we STILL don't know how Grogu got to Aravala-7. Why didn't they continue the flashback sequence?

All that being said, I think I would still rather watch this than Andor loool. I did like some of the action sequences and set pieces. And one thing I would actually commend is the lack of cameos. It was more actor cameos than character cameos this time. I've gotten kind of tired of the constant cameos tbh.
I wish the music was better though. The lack of Ludwig was really noticeable. There wasn't really anything new or memorable except the Bo-Katan theme's more epic variation. That was good. I think there were a couple other people missing from the first two seasons production like the director of cinematography wasn't the same person. I feel like little role changes like that can make drastic differences.
Something did feel off about this season and it didn't feel like the first to visually but I couldn't really place it. But it make sense if the cinematography people were different.
I also miss the western vibe of the show. Season 2 did kind of move away from it but it was still there at times.

Hmm overall I think the season as a whole was pretty meh and the weakest to date. Probably Mando Season 2 > Season 1 > BoBF? > Mando Season 3? Honestly the spectacles of Mando season 3 probably raise it past Boba. I just think BoBF is growing on me a little as time goes on, I actually feel like it might have added more to the universe staying on only one planet then Mando season 3 did. The Tusken stuff was really cool and I honestly think I enjoyed that more then the Mando stuff in this.
Like episode 3 is really useless is it not? As cool as it was seeing more of the prequel style Coruscant, I just don’t feel like episode 3 was meaningful to the season at all.
Then again the mod gang was awful in BoBF

Honestly I’m glad Gideon is finished for good, and the Mandalorian plotline is probably wrapped up for the most part. Also I’m happy the dark saber is gone, it’s just not needed anymore imo.
I’m not sure if there’s gonna be immediate plans for season 4. Now that Din isn’t tied down by Gideon or the Mandalorians they could go back to the Western stuff and have some cool stories. Have him go hang out with some of his buddies like Boba. With that said it’s like they wrote Mando to not have his show anymore and just pop up in cameos for stuff like BoBF, Ahsoka, etc. That actually might be a healthy balance to retain Pedro tbh if he’s not tied to doing his own show all the time.
I’m really surprised there was no credit scene and no real Thrawn tease other then the mentions from the officers. Also surprised Boba didn’t show up in this at all.

As for the ACTUAL episode… I mean it was good. I actually enjoyed almost all of it, kind of glad they got rid of the Robot suit, I liked that Din adopted Grogu. Really good fight scenes, I liked the door gauntlet a lot. R5 and the mouse droids was even kind of cool and not over the top like Chopper.
Great episode for Axe, honestly think I like him the most out of all the Mandalorian characters.

Yeah I could see us not seeing season 4 for awhile, I think we got Ahsoka season 1 and obviously 2 will be a thing. I think BoBF season 2 is still gonna happen. If they go ahead with Rangers of the New Republic or something similar there’s a great foundation to cameo Mando in there now on top of the other shows. Although Mando season 4 will likely be Rangers now imo
It does feel a little weird now though that Sabine wouldn’t have had a part in any of this… if anyone should have made a cameo, probably should have been her.

Yeah I hate to admit this but for some reason I sometimes reminisce about BOBF. I would probably put that above Mando 3 as well. Like I can sorta just laugh off the goofy stuff in that show while OWK for example, the silliness of that just makes me sad and I don’t want to watch it again.
I also agree I’m glad Gideon and the darksaber stuff is done. Like I do wish it was executed better but eventually I kinda just was over Gideon showing up in the last two episodes every season for a big battle and the silly changing rules around the darksaber
Axe was definitely a highlight for me this season. That actor is cool I hope to see him in more stuff.
I also liked how the ending felt so much like a game ending. Like you finish the main quest and get rewarded a house and the whole map is unlocked now and the NR pilot is like an NPC you can get post main story side missions from lol. Idk why people were complaining about the RPG writing, I was actually a fan of it because it felt a little unique.

Yeah I agree, I never had any major issues with BoBF in the sense that I was still enjoying it weekly as a side adventure. Mandalorian feels like a continuation of the galactic conflict in some sense, although Ahsoka will be more so that. Boba Fett was just a side story, be it on a very prominent planet. My main issues of Boba Fett was making him kind of weak and he took his helmet off too much. Also the Mando episodes were a little weird but I could see what they were trying to do, it feels like all these Mando verse shows are super connected and they aren’t really separate entities.

So does anyone else think the Armorer might be Rook from season 7 of TCW? It’s a pretty mainstream theory now.

Honestly… I think Mando season 4 is gonna happen but it’s not gonna follow Din anymore. It will follow Bo, Axe and the other Mandalorians which is fine if there’s an intriguing story to tell.
Like I said I think Din is now gonna be a cameo/ one off episodes in all these shows and that’s likely they only way to retain Pedro with his schedule

So does anyone else think the Armorer might be Rook from season 7 of TCW? It’s a pretty mainstream theory now. I think she's just a new character. But maybe they will retcon her to be Rook Kast later. Idk I think that's unnecessary. The Maul horns are weird though, but I don't think they will ever explain it. That actually might've been an interesting thing to explore. When they united the Mandalorians, it was just two factions, Bo's and Din's. Bringing together other factions like people who were Maul loyalists and whatnot would've made the plot point feel more grand. Honestly… I think Mando season 4 is gonna happen but it’s not gonna follow Din anymore. It will follow Bo, Axe and the other Mandalorians which is fine if there’s an intriguing story to tell. Like I said I think Din is now gonna be a cameo/ one off episodes in all these shows and that’s likely they only way to retain Pedro with his schedule That's what I sort of expect as well but they actually might just go back to normal. Like I thought Din would die but in hindsight, that would've been an extremely bold and divisive move that might not have been in their best interest to make. Continuing the show without the main characters would be a similar move. I think they did this ending just in case the series needed to end. But if season 4 comes out, that probably means they smoothed things out with Pedro but will retain him as a voice actor only. It's the Mando and baby Yoda show, that's why a lot of people watch. To remove them completely, would probably cause the show to take a larger hit than it just did.

Otherwise the show could have survived one season without baby Yoda.

I t was an alright finale, but lacked the pizazz of season 2's. Much as it's cool seeing an army of Mandos going at it, that Luke hallway scene was always going to be so hard to top. Kind of wondering what Gideon was thinking in making stormtroopers pretend Mandalorians. Clearly they're about as much cannonfodder as regular ones lol What's strange though is that there's not much room for any new season, kinda felt like a big, happy ending conclusion, though I know we still have that Thrawn breadcrumb of course.
Overall, this season dragged its feet way too much. So many times we were lumped with such lame scenes and ideas. Plus, and this season really made me realise it, the scripting just isn't that strong. There's so much repetition and lack of charisma, not to mention a certain lack of sophistication. Sadly, it makes me wonder if this show kind of peaked and anything that comes next will be saddled with this drop in quality.

I've seen people refer to this season as a "filler season" that effectively reset the show to status quo. They are now able to go back to Mando and baby Yoda bounty hunting adventures. Don't have to worry about lingering arcs like Mandalore, the dark saber, or Moff Gideon as those have been wrapped up even if it was in unsatisfying ways. Don't have to worry about conflicts with Pedro as his face doesn't need to be shown or the Cara Dune character or whatever beats they needed from Rangers of the Republic. More or less every loose end has been tied up except I guess explaining how Grogu got to Arvala-7 but I bet they don't even care about that. It definitely peaked. I cannot possibly see them taking it somewhere good. They set up all these epic arcs with so much potential and this was what they delivered. I can't expect them to give satisfying payoffs to any future setups.

I'm gonna keep it a buck, I really want this show to get cancelled now. I imagine it will go on to 5-6 seasons at least but I don't want to watch anymore. A lot of series can have bad or off seasons and it's not a big deal and a show can still recover. But with Star Wars, there is a canon and connected universe and decisions can have permanent consequences on the canon and lore.
BOBF's Mando episodes and season 3 have several things that I just can't accept as canon. Maybe it's a me problem but there is just no amount of copium, no amount of suspension of disbelief that can make me get over those things or think it's fine lol
I wonder if this is how OT purists felt with the PT. PT in a lot of ways does not mesh perfectly with the OT and overwrites a lot. Guess it was never a problem to me because that's the Star Wars that I grew up with and got attached to and maybe can have an easier time coming up with excuses for

Honestly there’s not much here that I think messes with the canon. The New Republic is super incompetent though and that’s a little weird, you also have to suspend some disbelief that Leia isn’t basically running it thst we’ve seen like in the EU.
I think the Imperial Remnant is portrayed well and fairly competent. I also think the Mandalorians are ok.

Just finished the season certain parts felt very weird. First, Jack Black's "queen" or wife was a terrible actress. I couldn't even focus on her lines it felt so out of place. Then the security officer being a confederate? He has a big speech then he goes up to the queen all defiant like. She says one thing, all of the sudden he's had a complete change of heart. It felt so unrealistic and unnatural. I watched the last five ep all together. Then I remember Moff Gideon also seemed weird. His character seemed off, and took a more cartoon villain approach with the armor. It was hard to pay attention most episodes, I felt like I kept trying to get past the filler episode, only to have every episode feel like filler. Grogu is Djin's son now, so he'll have to complete some sort of challenges with his dad now. He's also more permanent in the show. It was hard to watch after Baby Yoda came back all the sudden, completely destroyed the plot end of S1. A good end for Grogu's character as well. It also was very anticlimactic. The first season really felt like the best so far in terms of story and watchability. I think the show is slowly getting subpar in comparison to it's original quality but I'm still really really enjoying the show.
