Back to the Empire era, I get that they wanted to have Darth Maul in Solo because the timeline worked and it would look cool, but unlike in Marvel, the Star Wars films actually interconnect with the TV shows regularly(something which I appreciate).
Knowing that an Obi-Wan movie would likely happen should have signaled someone to pull the brakes on killing him in Rebels. Especially considering they now want to use him in the crime world.

And how they had no idea who Rey’s parents were when they wrote TFA. Seriously, if Marvel could have Infinity War planned for at least seven years, you think Lucasfilm would have some semblance of a plan for the biggest franchise of all time. It’s not the same kind of franchise. MCU is linear and connected. Star Wars is not. Don’t compare the two. Well I just kind of thought they would go that route considering the oversaturation of movies

And on that point, a lot of articles I’ve seen say Disney is trying to model this all after Marvel.

And on that point, a lot of articles I’ve seen say Disney is trying to model this all after Marvel. It's pretty obvious. I mean TLJ basically felt like a Marval movie.

Spinoffs are on hold now... I'm a little surprised Disney is taking Solo's box office performance this harshly. But I think it's a good wake up call. Hopefully it shows that the fans and their desires should be given greater consideration with future projects.

I think Disney took the wrong message from this. People saying “we don’t want phoned-in cash grabs” doesn’t mean “we don’t want to see anything except your corporate circlejerk of a sequel trilogy.”

Solo being a flop doesn’t mean people thought the movie was bad. They couldnt form an opinion before seeing it. People didn’t go see it because of poor marketing and mainly TLJ... This doesn’t mean make more sequels gah
I’m mad

The movie failed cause of TLJ reception, poor timing and bad marketing. The movie itself isn’t bad

Those idiots. They put the wrong movies on hold. The spin-offs are fine, don't cancel those. Just put the sequels on hold, those are clearly the problem.

I think the only way they’ll understand that TLJ was the problem is if Episode IX underperforms.

I honestly think Disney made a mistake by ignoring the most recent generation of Star Wars fans. Their goals seems to be to focus on the old OT fans or "create" new fans with the sequels. But they forgot that there was a perfect target audience of young adults who grew up with the prequels (or even TCW). These people are in the age group that is probably most likely to go watch a Star Wars movie. But in six years Disney has failed to acknowledge the Prequels even happened. All we got was one line about Sheev in TLJ. Yet people in this age group probably aren't extremely enthusiastic about Han Solo, that's more a thing for people in their fifties at this point. And people in their fifties are probably not as likely to go watch a Han Solo movie in cinema. And the new fans, who are growing up with the sequels, probably care very little for Han too. So basically this movie was doomed to fail. Disney needs to start acknowledging the prequels and creating some prequel era content aimed at people who grew up in the 90's and 2000's.

I mean thinking about it... Lucas cares more for the franchise then most, Dave Filoni is the only similar comparison. If you were to make a movie with all new characters then yeah I don’t trust Lucas that much but with an established character like Obi-Wan, I trust him.
Now Disney won’t let him have the same power as he had with the prequels if it were to happen but to be fair Kenobi was actually very well done in the prequels, certainly one of the high points for sure. And there’s already a working relation with Ewan there.
