Haven't seen or even heard about anything by the director so idk hope it'll be good...
Everyone keeps saying it would be set between 3 and 4 but what if it was during the Clone Wars lol... But then I'd want to see Anakin as well. But otherwise it would be an entire movie on Tatooine unless he actually leaves... Every Star Wars movie has multiple planets in it

ROTS was 12 years ago so a movie set between the trilogies, Ewan is the perfect age tbh

I still can't fathom why a young Han Solo film had to be made before this, in spite of damn near half the fandom wanting it

People are saying Ewan's getting ready because he grew out the beard and has been training... I feel like it's too early idk
He gets asked about it so much though I bet he's kinda sick of it since the response is always the same

It's not like they recast Han, Luke or Leia for the sequels, so it's crazy to even assume they would cast anyone but Ewan.

Kenobi is probably my favorite Star Wars character, so I'm thrilled that this is confirmed. However, if it is set between the trilogies (which seems most logical), I'm not too sure how it would have a strong plot. He pretty much has to stay on Tatooine, unless they have him exit exile for a while...? But I don't think I like that idea too much, since Luke is like the most important person in the galaxy, and Kenobi's purpose for 19 years is to look over him.

Well the A'Sharad Hett plot with Kenobi was a common theme told in many different sources in the old EU. Basically Hett, a Tusken Raider Jedi that survived Order 66 rallies Tuskens on Tatooine during his exile and makes them a lot more organized (militaristic) and aggressive and Kenobi had to stop it. They could go with that plot, it would basically be the plot from the Kenobi book that was released right before the Disney Canon changes

Hett was also later Darth Kryat in the old EU due to his prolonged life from the Vong but that part wouldn't happen, most likely ends in Kenobi killing him instead of letting him go if they did it now.

Y couldn’t they wait to kill DM in this movie? Having Maul meet his end in this film would have been cool, but I don't think he's a necessity for this movie to be interesting.

Y couldn’t they wait to kill DM in this movie? Because he shouldn’t be in it. He should be in a potential underworld type movie. Not Han related though

Have him appear as a crime lord and then have him fall to Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan. General audiences will be pretty confused when Maul just goes away.

Just to clarify, I didn't want Maul to die the way he did. But if that's what they wanted, they should have done it in a movie.

Having Obi-Wan kill Maul in a Han Solo movie seems weird and random... Would probably disrupt the flow of the movie unless the whole story gave those characters significant roles. But then I would question the story because it really shouldn't heavily involve Obi and Maul..

It’s extremely unlikely at this point that Darth Maul will just stop appearing in Disney Star Wars movies so he can have an arc across multiple films, not all of which must involve Han Solo. But having his death be against Ewan McGregor rather than Stephen Stanton (probably in a Kenobi movie) would be much more powerful and mainstream audience would see it.

Because there's no point to overuse Maul when his story is already wrapped. And his crime syndicate stuff is far more interesting then his stuff with Kenobi. Honestly a cameo is enough for Maul's character in this time period

Well yeah I think people would like to see Maul in the movies but they should've thought about that before letting the tv shows take over his story arc. And now that that's happened... oh well I guess. They could probably still show him but it might feel repetitive after what's been done in the tv shows

It is almost as if Disney does not really have a plan for the saga... Pretty obvious based on TFA and TLJ... But it's surprising considering how the MCU has been planned for years.

And how they had no idea who Rey’s parents were when they wrote TFA. Seriously, if Marvel could have Infinity War planned for at least seven years, you think Lucasfilm would have some semblance of a plan for the biggest franchise of all time.

It’s not the same kind of franchise. MCU is linear and connected. Star Wars is not. Don’t compare the two.

Either way, the movies involving Rey (TFA and TLJ) are linear and connected. It speaks volumes that the questions they set up had no actual answers when TFA was produced.

I think I’ve used this example before, but GOT/ASIOF wouldn’t work nearly as well is GRRM wasn’t solid on Jon Snow’s parentage when he wrote the first book.
