Since some of us have already transitioned past High School and into PostSecondary, wondering what people will be studying. Not sure if there's anyone other then Pinda and I in post secondary though I just registered and finalized my courses for Fall and Winter. In the Fall I'm taking History, Anthropology and Political Sciences. In the Winter I am taking History, Sociology and Political Studies.

All of them are introduction courses except History which doesn't really have an intro you just choose what you want to learn about. Pinda you asked what kind it was. For the first semester I am doing "The Early Modern World" (15th-18th Century), in the second Semester I am doing "The Modern World" (19th-21st century). I figured I'd take the most general of the courses before going into advanced stuff. But they got more specific courses like Medieval, WW2, American History pre 1865. And lots of Canadian stuff I don't want to take....

Like we have one subject each quarter about a specific period (Contemporary, Modern, Ancient, Medieval) and then another subject about historiography, like the study of history. And next year we have "profiles" which are a set of 4 subjects about a specific subject and lots of free choices that don't have to be related to history.

There is options that relate to that I believe but not in the two I picked, however in the later history courses I believe it transitions more towards what you have. I could have taken one but those two where the first on the History list so I decided to roll with those

They are in a transition phase, last year you could apparently pick freely, but now we are restricted to profiles... and next year they will have much more and better options for those... kind of sucks...

As you can see a lot of it is boring Candian stuff I'd likely do the European stuff next... I'll likely stay at this college for my first 2 years at least before transferring to a different one, I'd have to move like 5 or 8 hours away though for that

lol... You have 15 weeks about the second World War, here we have 7 weeks to deal with the entire medieval era.

lol... You have 15 weeks about the second World War, here we have 7 weeks to deal with the entire medieval era. How many classes a week? Most history classes are 2 like 50-70 minutes classes a week. But the Second World War is a pretty big event with a lot of factors leading up to it and a lot of nations taking part. WW2 also had a lot of outcomes. It's also a lot more recent so there's a lot examined and written in it, plus more accurate the something from a 1000 years ago. So I'd say it's kind of understandable But it seems most history courses at my college are 45 hours total spread over 15 weeks (2 classes per week).

Passed by Medieval history retake exam with a 5,7 which means I got a 5,5 for the subject which is exactly enough... one small mistake and I would have failed the subject
