So since you know a character's not going to die, it's pointless to tell their story? Wouldn't that mean stories involving 90% of the characters from TCW are pointless, then? And Rebels actually increases the chances of the stories being told. There's been rumors of a comic showing the Battle of Mandalore arc in order to tie in with Ahsoka on Rebels. I kinda doubt Rex and Ahsoka were to survive past EP3 originally, but then they changed it so they could be in Rebels. I'm not so sure. Rex, maybe. But I think Ahsoka would have lived. Dave always had wanted her to live.

I guess it does spoil it if you know they won't die but most of these character (besides Hondo) where untouchables anyways. Also TCW developers even revealed pretty much everything they had planned at the Star Wars celebration back in April, so the little comments made in Rebels are not very significant but they are welcome and do teach some things. We didn't actually know Rex was at Mandalore and it implies that's the last time he saw Ahsoka before ROTS. And yeah pretty much the entire prequels sort of conflict with the whole thing of knowing a character won't die... We knew Obi-Wan, Anakin, Yoda, Palpatine where all untouchable and so was Padme for 99% since she had to give birth to the twins and honestly that sort of makes some of the plots of Episode 1 and Episode 2 pointless since we knew she wouldn't be assassinated. And almost every other character you just knew they would die like all the Jedi, Maul, Dooku, Grievous since well they had too. But does knowing if a character dies or not really invalidate entire stories? Just because you know that they live doesn't mean the story won't still be interesting. Everyone dies eventually anyway. ^ This

I'd say it depends on how you go about it, like in episode 2 the entire first half of the movie is about protecting Padme from assassination and find out how's trying to kill her but we know she will never die which means there's no real tension or conflict

I'll probably watch the new episode pretty late tonight since Supernatural comes on and I got to do homework. We get Disney XD but idk what is up with it I check the search function and there's no Star Wars Rebels at all for some reason, but the search only shows a few days where the guide shows weeks, I think Canada XD is just behind (I'll still record the episodes when they come in though)
But yeah got to wait for like a stream tonight

Pretty good episode. It was definitely mostly just set up and character introductions, but it was still entertaining. I bet it'll be a lot better when watched consecutively with the next one. The Zeb/Gregor buddy up was funny (I hope we see more of that next week), and I really like how they handled Rex. He's old, but not obsolete. He's sort of grandfatherly in a way, but he's still a badass soldier. I also thought it was interesting how him and the others were actually part of the Empire. I had been assuming that they went into hiding at the end of the war, but they apparently continued to serve under the Empire up until the clones were decommissioned.

Yeah I liked the episode, good character introductions and all. The Gregor and Zeb team up was one of my favourite parts as well. Well the theory about them not betraying the Jedi was correct though and that they all had their chips removed. I liked how they served under the Empire for awhile and Wolffe seems to still be loyal to them even though he's no longer allowed to serve. Rex probably served because he had no other purpose in life but to be a solider and honour the code of his creation. Gregor well I'm surprised he was even considered fit for service lol. However I don't understand why Wolffe didn't go through with Order 66 if he's all Anti-Jedi but then there is the fact that Plo-Koon did die while in a starship as well so he didn't have influence on his death. I wonder if this was the original plan for Rex though since they said at the celebration the finale would involve Rex and Ahsoka, I guess Rex was still loyal to Jedi but felt obligated to serve the Empire. I guess this also means he wasn't on Coruscant during Order 66. However I do like that he was in the Empire, probably even serving under Vader personally without knowledge of who he really was. Liked the little clone wars references as well, the quote from Anakin and referencing back to what Rex said at the end of Umbara. Also the chips.

Rex doesn't oppose the Empire though, he just says he preferred the Republic.

Also the weapons Ezra and Kanan where using where like Magnaguard staffs and that entire sequence seemed to be a bit like Jaws even though the sequence did drag on a bit. But we will get to see Clones vs Stormtroopers next week and I think the Empire has AT-AT in that as seen in one of the first trailers

It was okay but yeah the first part is usually slower. I wish they found Rex some other way though instead of Ahsoka just telling them. It would've been better I think if she didn't know either. Like nothing really happened in this episode besides them catching that worm thing. Actually searching or coming across Rex would've been more interesting.

Saw the episode and it was fantastic! This episode was entirely based on the interactions between characters and i love it so much for doing that. Seeing Rex, Wolffe and Gregor again was as exciting as expected. It almost felt like Rex never left us in the first place. I would've liked an explanantion for Gregor's mental state though, but i'm geussing something went wrong when they took their chips out or it will be explained in the next episode. The best part of the episode was, once again, the characters of Kanan and Ezra. I loved how Filoni parralled them this episode with Ezra trusting the clones immediately and Kanan feeling extremely uncomfortable around them. This was a great call back to Order 66 without actually mentioning it. And that fishing scene was just genius The best scene of the episode when Kanan told Ezra how his master died. We didn't see it, but i easily picture how gruesome it must've been. Also well done Kevin Kiner. He used the musical theme of the Clones (first introduced in Rookies) in this episode wich i greatly appriciate. I'm probably the only one who heard this but he even used a track from Season 1 Episode 20's "Innocents of Ryloth" when Hera spoke about how many lives the Clones saved back in the day. This was a great call back to all the good things the clones did. I think this episode also indicated that the Clones eventually became aware of what they did during Order 66. Also one of the reason the Empire probably got rid of them.

Well it seems the clones only got discontinued a year or two ago so they just became too old for service, nothing else really. 99.9% of clones would still have the chips. Also pretty sure Gregor is like he is because well he was in a massive explosion and somehow survived I don't think it's to do with the chip being removed. But yeah I noticed all the clone wars soundtracks again

Apparently it has been confirmed on Twitter by clone wars writers that the "Siege of Mandalore" is actually the finale for the clone wars. Which means Rex was not on Coruscant during Order 66 and was probably with Ahsoka at the time (didn't have his chip though). And that gives more reason to believe what Potato said earlier about a possible Mandalore arc being made into a comic, that arc may actually be TCW finale story

The actual end of the show. But the more I think about it, could make sense. I doubt it takes place all around Mandalore though but Ahsoka being there may be similar to Yoda being on Kashyyyk and how he was safe from danger. Anakin and Obi-Wan could also have been on Mandalore but got recalled from the outer rim sieges during the battle of Coruscant thus this would allow that end of the clone wars and little bit of Episode 3 tie in they where talking about mainly with Ahsoka and Rex

An arc along the lines of like:
Episode 1: Mandalore finale introduction, Ahsoka is united with Rex, Anakin and Obi-Wan there. The Republic is finishing up business in the Outer Rim sieges.
Episode 2: Battle of Courscsnt takes place and focuses on this (kind of like how "The Lost One" was sort of different then the other 3 Yoda episodes), Anakin, Obi-Wan and most of the 501st are recalled but Rex and Torrent Company (Jesse, Kix, Gregor??etc) stay behind to assist Ahsoka. After this episode Anakin and Obi-Wan would no longer be followed in this arc (Episode 3 is for that).
Episode 3: More Mandalore stuff, Order 66 happens, conflict with the clones.
Episode 4: Rex maybe assists Ahsoka to escape and whatever is happening on Mandalore would get wrapped up likely with Imperial Control (Sabine in Rebels hints to that), Ahsoka goes into hiding.

Even though it'd be a great finale, I feel like it should have been something else instead and Mandalore should have been a bit earlier. Either way, I really hope we get to see that arc in some form eventually.

Yeah I agree something else would have been better but if it was something along the lines of what I said/ predict then I think it would turn out good. Have the last of Anakin and Obi-Wan in it along with Ahsoka and Rex (two of the main TCW created characters) in there as well. Also if they where making the comic to tie into Rebels then Mandalore falling to the Empire ties in nicely, I think we may eventually see Mandalore on Rebels.

At first I thought the Mandalore arc would have been mainly Bo's mandos vs Mauls syndicate however I guess "The Siege of Mandalore" is a official Republic/ Empire invasion to liberate/ conquer (after things flip) it

The finale arc would have involved Maul... Arc is degraded by the pointless shoe horned Clone Wars character that really serves no purpose.
Idk too much things in one arc, doesn't sound as good now

Maul should have been wrapped up in his own arc and not taken away stuff from the conclusion of the actual clone wars (both series and the end of the time era). And since that arc also takes place at least partially in Episode 3 that ruins the chance of Kenobi or Sidious having much role so Maul would probably be given some stupid death

And if it was indeed the Mandalore arc, Maul was involved with Mandalore already so it makes sense to include him.

But he really isn't needed in the shows finale actually I don't think Mandalore is needed in the shows finale either. At least it would be better with his death though even if it may be stupid
