Merciless Mercenaries - Day 4: Loyalty is a Lie

"It's over, Newan," Sansaya said, in front of the Hutt. She held Tyron by the neck with a blaster aimed at his head. "We've caught your spies, and it's your turn to die."

The remainder of her men surrounded her, arms on their weapons. They had infiltrated the Hutt's lair hours earlier, and were now standing in his main room.

The Hutt cackled. In Huttese, the crime boss said "you fools. I've got all my men surrounding you. Do you think I will die so easily? Lilith," he said to his right-hand woman, her lightsaber in her hand, "take them out."

Lilith ignited her lightsaber, and the blade shone red. She paused, her black eyes staring at Sansaya. Sansaya stared back.

"Well what are you waiting for? Kill her!" Newan began to panic. 

"No," Sansaya said. "Kill him."

Lilith stared at Newan, and then looked at Sansaya. The surrounding men, both Newan's and Sansaya's, watched in silence. "She's my sister," said Lilith.

Newan grimaced. "Not after she left you."

Lilith roared, and flipped towards Sansaya. The distraction allowed Tyron to escape Sansaya's grasp, and the negotiator rolled away from the sisters' fight. Lilith swung her lightsaber at Sansaya, and the woman could only dodge. "Sister, please!"

Sansaya's men and Newan's men began to fight. The sounds of blasterfire and explosions rocked the Hutt castle.

Sansaya managed to land a punch on her sister, but that only increased Lilith's strength. She had the Force on her side. Holding out her arm, Lilith grabbed Sansaya's neck with the Force and began to squeeze. "Traitor."

It was over, thought Sansaya. All her plans, her men... all nothing, because she couldn't breathe, because of her sister.

Suddenly, Lilith was flung backwards. Sansaya fell, and could breathe again. She heard her sister yell, and saw Spider on top of her, snarling at his prey. "Boss!" he roared in Shyriiwook. "Kill the Hutt!"

Sansaya dashed towards Newan, who had been trying to escape. Unsheathing Star's vibroblade, she held it at the Hutt's throat. "It's over. The underworld is mine."

Newan laughed, but it wasn't his normal, victorious laugh. It was sad. "You can have the damn underworld. But they'll never be loyal to you." The Hutt sighed. "Loyalty is a lie." 

In one blow, Sansaya plunged the blade into Newan the Hutt, and left it there.

Turning around, she saw Spider and Lilith clawing at each other, but her sister had gained the upper hand. She slashed her lightsaber across the Wookiee's chest, and Spider roared in pain, beaten. Holding her lightsaber over the cyborg Wookiee, Lilith smiled, but before she could kill the beast, a blaster bolt seared her face. Lilith fell backwards, dead. 

All the chaos in the room ceased. Tyron stood over the woman's body, pistol in hand. The Devaronian grinned, but fearfully. 

Sansaya stood upon Newan's throne. "Newan is dead, and so is Lilith," she said, to everyone in the room. "But I stand. This crime world is mine now, and I'll make sure you all prosper under me, much more than that blasted Hutt could do for you."

Tyron began clapping. Laughing, he said, "our loyalty is yours. Isn't it?" he asked the surrounding crowd. The mercenaries nodded. "Now, I know I may not have been the most trustworthy..." he began.

Sansaya interrupted by pointing her pistol at Tyron. "You spied on me for Newan the Hutt. Maverick did the same, and he died for it."

Tyron gasped. "No! Wait! I'll help yo-"

"I can't have traitors in my ranks." She fired her pistol at the scum, and Tyron fell. Sansaya stood upon the throne as the new crime lord of Tatooine. She had known that Tyron would have probably served her loyally, but he had betrayed her. And she had no time for traitors. In this world, Sansaya knew, she had to be merciless.
