So I been watching it again with my Dad (we’re on Trespass) and I just wanted to know how others feel about the first episodes of the show not that it is at its end?
Overall it’s not as bad as I thought it would be looking back but there’s some annoyances or reoccurring things that I find to be annoying. What stands out the most is Anakin’s voice he just sounds so high pitch and Ahsoka as well sounds weird but it gets a bit better as the season goes on.
But the real reason I just can’t seem to like this season as much is the characters, maybe some people enjoy the variety in Jedi but I sort of find it out of place that they hop to a new character every episode. Plo-Koon, Luminara, Aayla, Kit Fisto, Yoda, Anakin, Obi-Wan idk why just takes something away especially when those Jedi (most) are only a main character for one maybe two episodes. Also goes for jumping to a new separatist leader every episode as well seems they felt the need to introduce everyone within the first 11 episodes (got to say I have little complaints with the other 11 though).
Also Grievous being terribly weak when he is on screen is another really bad thing but I do enjoy his presence. And it’s not like he actually is weak, he had tons of trophies and is a great battle mind but his portrayal of running or being defeated is always “plot demands it” situations…. Probably my biggest complaint with the show in general is how the separatists never win (mainly Grievous). Sidious winning isn’t a win for them but a win for the Empire. They “talk” of the separatist wins and the struggles in Narration only but never show it….
Overall I’d say 7.5/10 for season 1. 6/10 for the first 10 (too many characters) but 9/10 for the last 12.

Also the droid episodes with Goldie does anyone else notice a very different animation here? I bet these where either the first ones they did or some of the last ones they added in with little budget.
It almost looks like the story reel episodes but just more polished.

I like season 1 because it's lighter and has a more adventurous Star Wars feeling than later seasons

I noticed the same thing. Downfall of A Droid defenitely had some sort of different animation style. I geuss they were just trying some out or like you said budget problems and early development. Also in the music department this episode is different. Still a good one though.

I like the first season. I like seeing other Jedi but staying focused on the main characters makes for better story I think. And yeah I don't get why they had to get all the Separatist leaders captured in the first few seasons. I mean I thought they'd be released in "Crisis on Naboo" but that didn't happen. And yeah, I kinda wish they had a few more eps where the Sepias won to make it feel more realistic. IDK.

Personally i'd give Season an 8 or 9 because it served as a perfect introduction to what the show had in store for us and how varied it was.

It bugs me how everyone says Season 1 is strictly for kids even though it has episodes like "Rookies", "Lair of Grievous", and "Hostage Crisis"

I haven't watched anything from Season 1 in forever, and that's mainly because when I do watch TCW I watch the more recent, better episodes. But I can remember Season 1 being good enough, especially when you take into mind it was made in 2008.

I fell season 1 is more childish then Rebels, but thing with Rebels because the way it is it can pull of more childish episodes better IMO.
I think Trespass is the best

No you're right but it makes the conflict just not be all there when compared to the Empire vs Rebellion or Empire vs Republic (SWTOR). Everything is controlled by Palpatine so there isn't really any real war. Now maybe if TCW came out first before ROTS that would make it different

I liked the variety of season 1 and how light-hearted and "adventurous" it was. It was nice, simple plots, and was enjoyable. It also kept you moving with so many different ones. However, sometimes it got annoying with how much of a variety there was. I mean, I liked seeing all the different Jedi and Seppies, but after a while, it got old and I just wanted to stick with the main 3. Anakin's voice was a little higher-pitched, which felt off. I also didn't like Ahsoka in S1 either. But I'd give the first season 8/10 probably, since it was a nice set-up for everything to come and it never got boring. Just minor flaws (and sometimes the stories became a little too simple/childish).

Oh yeah, and with the finale being pretty much the only victory for the "villains" was something I didn't like either. It made threats like Grievous/Dooku seem less imposing. And when the Narrator talks about all these blows against the Republic but we never see them makes it seem a little less realistic as well.

Ok so we got up to Storm over Ryloth (will watch that arc tomorrow).
But the Blue Shadow Virus plot line is kind of terrible. Why would Palpatine want something like that? Makes no sense what so ever. And I don't suppose Vindi just walked in a cruiser grabbed a bunch of battle droids and left for Naboo so...
Also same goes for the Kamino plot line why does Sidious want to invade that planet...

I think my dad likes Bane the best. Well yeah, he's really just kinda funny IMO, nothing too spectacular. The plot was neat, but there's obviously some parts that weren't too thought out. I'd give the two episodes something like 7.5/10 or maybe 8 Bane is awesome by the way.
