Not sure if anyone here will even be around by the time season 3 comes out given the decline of the forum... But still.
So apparently Gina Carano was dropped from Lucasfilms... I'm just gonna say it that sucks. Cara was a great character. I didn't look too much into all of Gina's social media activity but I guess the overall message is she was being a controversial bitch lol. That's kinda wild though that you can get fired for just speaking your mind on social media. We do be living in a society.
I mean I think she should've had some common sense to not be so extreme when she has so many eyes on her for being a celebrity figure. But like did HR or whoever not give her a warning or something? Pretty sure Pablo Hidalgo got a warning.
But yeah imo this isn't good for Star Wars. I doubt they will recast Cara and tbh I don't want them to. I hope she wasn't going to have a big part on Rangers because that will surely have an effect on the writing. And who knows what they had planned for Mando. It seemed like her character was just beginning to go somewhere. But at least we left her in a place where it wouldn't be crazy if she just disappeared. They can say she's busy with NR stuff or something

I can't help but think this is a political thing honestly. Did she have bad takes? Yes. But if they were leftist takes I kinda feel like she wouldn't get the same backlash...
Twitter's outrage and cancel culture is beyond fucking retarded and toxic though. "#FireGinaCarano 👏👏" like holy shit imagine getting off on someone losing their livelihood just because they hurt your feelings... Am I wrong about this? Can't say shit in today's world lmao. I get employers maintain the right to fire people for whatever but were they not able to get her to cut back or apologize? Unless there were some other factors for which they just didn't like her.

Have to say it's mad how you can get fired for personal views that don't do any harm to anyone. And yet we stil get people following the "Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom of consequences" rhetoric that some are almost programmed to say, despite the fact it's just freaking Twitter posts that are causing a stir. People need to get a grip and realise it's just words on a computer screen. I mean, if I were an employer I wouldn't care what my employees were saying politically online as long as it's not disturbing Damn left wing authoritarians...

I think she said some stuff that wasn't worded in the best way, but of course instead of understanding how people online always talk hyperbole compared to how they do in real life, the mobs come out and cry for blood. Ironically, as a result, they too are talking hyperbole This kind of Twitter fuelled zealotry is just a complete scourge and frankly I hope it dies from all the infighting sooner rather than later.

I don't know about that... If you are a public figure and compare yourself to a Jew during the Holocaust for some stupid reason you are asking for trouble... I don't think left/right-wing matters there.

And honestly, spreading dangerous disinformation about the coronavirus and the US elections is probably also a good reason for a media company to want to cut ties with someone...

I don't think left/right-wing matters there. Well that is probably fair. But what I was getting at is I feel like a lot of people on the left also have their stupid moments like this and they aren't silenced. I don't think Gina even said anything that extreme nor was she even really hateful towards any group. At worst she was being very insensitive and many of her comments were also misinterpreted. Although I guess the disinformation as you said is pretty bad too.. But I guess the outraged parties were very vocal and Gina didn't really help her case at all so to protect their image and whatnot, Disney/LF probably figured it easiest to cut her loose. I do think there is some hypocrisy on their part though, at the least a very pick and choose attitude on who gets punished. Guess it shouldn't be too surprising though.

I have to admit the trailer does look interesting and there's a lot going on. This season is going to be very big in scale for sure. I'm most curious about the NR and Dr. Pershing stuff. I don't see how Mando can be involved in that so I wonder if they will just do multiple point of view plot lines. I bet that's some of the stuff that would have been in the Rangers show but now they had to put it here
The Mando/Grogu reunion in BOBF seriously put me off from the future of Mando initially. But idk maybe I can get over it because this looks like it will be good. It'll depend on whether or not they connect to the sequels
Tbh I wouldn't mind if they ended at season 3. I think they can do it with like 10 episodes or something. They could've even ended at season 2 if they had tied a few loose ends like why Grogu was in that mercenary stronghold and why the Empire wants him. Unfortunately I can see them going for quite some time given the popularity and I think endgame would be the First Order which would suck

But I think 4 seasons for Mando would be good. This season can be about returning to Mandalore, last season can be about rebuilding and reuniting the scattered Mandalorians.
