Well my worst fear has been realized. It's over boys. They're for sure trying to bring back Palpatine and the rise of the First Order was foreshadowed. What the hell man we had something good now it's over. This show is for sure tying into the sequels. Everything is leading up to that disaster that makes all of Star Wars pointless and ruins all our favorite characters But anyway as for the rest of the episode... It was okay. Mostly just action scenes. The school was nice but the cookie scene was so dragged out. Why do they always drag out stupid joke scenes for so long? Them exploring the base reminded me of Fallen Order a little bit. And it's been a while since Midichlorians have been mentioned I think. But yeah nothing amazing. It probably would've been a 7/10 but the sequel bullshit makes me want to drop it lower... Just left a bad taste in my mouth. Also who were those guys at the end? Death Troopers or something new? Edit: saw a better picture maybe they're Dark Troopers from EU

Also how did the Crest get repaired so fast? And I thought Cara and Greef would’ve come as back up to meet Ahsoka

I liked the episode, but it felt like they rushed through a lot of it. Maybe that's because most of the episode was stealth or action sequences. But also the editing felt a little choppy to me... mostly at the part where they split up to escape the base.
I'm not sure how to feel about the apparent ties into the sequels. That era doesn't interest me given how the movies turned out. But I'm trying to remain optimistic, since TCW boosted my enjoyment of the prequels immensely and perhaps this show can have a similar effect.
I wonder if Thrawn will appear at some point. He could be an interesting bridge in the transition from the Empire to the First Order and definitely keep me more engaged. At the same time though, last week hinted at future focus on Mandalore rather than anything ST related. It feels like they could take this series in a lot of directions, hopefully it doesn't overstretch itself.

I'm getting a bad feeling about this... Really it was okay at best. Lots of sneaking around and dragged out joke scenes because they need to find someway to pad out the runtime. But dear god, I just knew baby Yoda tied into Palpatine's revival plans. They could've put the focus on getting Mandalorians back to supremacy, get Bo and Fett mixed in it all, but no, we have to start feeding TROS buildup references... Once again this show leans into one of the biggest hurdles I knew it would bump into: ST acknowledgment.

People are saying the dark troopers are the things at the end, which they think means Kyle Katarn's in this, which I see as extremely optimistic thinking lol

Yup there we go, they had to drag the Sequels into this. It was kind of obvious though, but I thought perhaps they would move away from that route after the backlash to Episode 9. Honestly, this plot of trying to revive Palps would have been cool if the Sequels didn't exist. But they do... so... Nah.
Anyway, I guess baby Yoda was Snoke all along?

It's funny because just yesterday I was excitedly theorizing about the whole Game of Thrones type Mandalore story they could have planned and was super hyped for a new episode but after seeing the Snoke looking pickle jars and First Order foreshadowing... Yeah all of a sudden my interest and excitement just dissolved
It's possible they are going a different route, I really hope so, but I don't think it's likely. Even if Palpatine/Snoke is not the plan, the First Order is clearly being set up. I just don't understand though. Why? Why do they need to tie it in. Are they really fans of the sequels? Do they like the depressing story or is someone telling them to do it? I mean who would tell them that I feel like KK doesn't really care now. She realized the movies were trash so the move would be to distance. Sequel fans are in the minority, there is no need to pander to them. The show would still be good without doing that. Besides the shills and consoomers would eat it up no matter what is shown...

One thing I caught was Mando slightly lifting his helmet to drink the soup with baby which he hasn't done before. Maybe he's rethinking "the way" after Bo roasted him lol

Maybe he's rethinking "the way" after Bo roasted him lol I suspect he's slowly coming to accept he's been duped into militantly following a code that keeps him hot, sweaty and most likely a bit smelly with the BO lol. Unless stuff like the helmet comes with a cooling system, which I've always wondered if that's the case.

Apparently next week's episode will have a runtime of 45 mins, but then the week after will barely be 30 mins. They really seem to enjoy taking liberty in each episode's length.

So people are drawing similarities with this episode to the old Jedi Outcast game with Kyle Katarn. I don't know much about it but I saw some cutscenes. I guess the Nevarro base kinda looked like Kijim outpost from the game. The game also had a character called Admiral Fyyar who was working on experiments to create Force sensitive soldiers or something. This could be what they're doing with Gideon and the clone things. I think Dark Troopers were also from that game series. Some are saying Gideon may don the dark trooper armor which will be lightsaber proof. That would be like Fyyar's cortosis armor I would much rather they try to adapt some of these game concepts than connect to TROS. Maybe that is indeed what they're doing and people are just assuming it has to do with Snoke/Palpatine. Tbh idk why the vats were so surprising. From the moment we saw baby Yoda, we pretty much knew the remnant wanted him for some experiment. So why was seeing the experiment so shocking lol Anyway that still doesn't fix the First Order foreshadowing.... Seeing FO vs Resistance stuff to me would be much more irritating than seeing them try to bring back Palpatine. The latter I could kinda see be something the remnant attempts (but they shouldn't succeed). Guarantee we will see First Order stormtrooper armor, Resistance pilots, T-70 x-wings, or FO TIEs before the show ends.

Yeah I got Kyle Katarn and Shadow of the Empire vibes in this one but overall I quite enjoy this show, I’m disappointed I didn’t keep up weekly but getting caught up today and tomorrow with my father.
Honestly it’s not that surprising the empire still has a decent presence, same as the old EU. Warlords still running around and soldiers that got nowhere to go.
