You forgot week 15 👀
Inside Man
Another lame childish episode
Voices and Visions
Okay I guess? I don't even know anymore. Cool that we got to see Dathomir and Maul's hideout. Every single thing Ezra says makes me cringe though. And I really don't think they wrote Maul well. All these old characters, even if they're bad guys like Hondo and Maul, are always nice to Ezra and always selflessly help him... wtf

Geonosis Ghosts Part 1 Finally an acceptable episode. But still not the best honestly. Somehow this time Rex made me cringe more than Ezra... Why is Rex acting like he and Saw are old war buddies? They barely knew each other that was really bad. Saw looks pretty good here though. Somehow better than how he looked in Fallen Order where he'd be 10 years younger lol. Can they stop putting battle droids everywhere though? I mean I guess it makes more sense here... But come on it's been like 16-17 years since the war I find it hard to believe there would be so many functional droids around the galaxy. Feels like Dave shoehorning more clone wars shit in. Also that Geonosian was so bad... Why was he crawling around on all fours? And why did he sound like a fucking synthesizer bruh I hate this show Geonosis Part 2 These would've been amazing episodes if TCW had done them... Even the best episodes of Rebels are not that good because of the cringe dialogue, bad voice acting, and just overall how annoying they make all the characters. And Rex just shut the fuck up dude you weren't even there when Steela died just stop talking bro. I thought for some reason Saw was left behind. Doesn't he go crazy from inhaling the fumes from the Empire's poison? Idk. That Imperial Captain was a baddie though.... I don't think she shows up again does she? Too bad, such a waste

An Inside Man give us a look at Thrawn actually doing a little more than intentionally letting the rebels escape. His demonstration of faulty speeder bikes at the beginning of the episode really showcases his cold nature.
We get confirmation that Kallus is Fulcrum here, which I think was the better choice rather than waiting until the end of the season for a reveal. Seeing Thrawn reason through the notion of a spy among them is fun to watch. I like Ryder, so it's nice seeing him again. Also liked the AT-AT strategy of kneeling down to trap Kanan and Ezra during their escape.
I'm not crazy that this is another episode that involves infiltrating an Imperial facility, but there's enough other stuff I like that's going on to make me accept it. 7.5/10.

Visions and Voices is a solid episode. We see the Darksaber for the first time since TCW, which is great, but we also return to Dathomir. I love how we continue to see the fallout from events in Massacre and Son of Dathomir. This episode also reminds me how well Fallen Order handled Dathomir, even though I'm not sure Cal visits this exact same area.
Ezra and Maul work together pretty well here, from the visions at the beginning to Maul's final plea for Ezra to join him. The details in Maul's room were really cool, especially the mini shrine to Satine. It's amazing how Maul remains obsessed with killing Kenobi.
I like how this episode continues what we saw in Holocrons of Fate, but with the twist of using Magick to swap the knowledge they obtained. Seeing Kanan and Sabine become possessed added a cool touch.
I don't have many complaints with this episode. It's one of my favorites from S3's first half. I'll give it an 8.5/10.

Part 1 begins a pretty neat story that revisits Geonosis. I really like seeing Saw again, but it's strange how he acts like Rex and him are super close. There's not really anything to support that. Despite that, it's fun to see the crew navigate through the tunnels in search of the last living Geonosian.
There's a nice sense of mystery to this episode that is complimented nicely by the intensity Saw brings. This released following Rogue One, so it's pretty cool seeing more connections on the lengths the Empire took to keep the Death Star a secret.
7/10.

I definitely like Part 2 more. Throwing Imperials into the mix adds a nice sense of urgency. The whole sequence with them fighting the jet troopers was great, especially seeing Sabine fight with a jetpack for the first time.
I'm glad we witnessed more of Saw's extremism in this episode, from his arguments with the Ghost crew to his threat to blast the egg. He's a pretty neat character that I'm glad has appeared beyond the Onderon arc. It helps make the growing rebel movement seem more dynamic and realistic by having various factions that hold different ideals.
Even though Klick-Klack leaves with the egg, I'm pretty sure there's a comic that mentions how they still go extinct shortly after. I'll give this one an 8/10.

I should’ve made a stolen stormtrooper armor count.

Love Thrawn’s theme. This was a much better episode than the last two. I feel like there have been too many episodes now where someone on the team gets some armor and pretends to be an imperial. You think they’d be recognized after all these missions.
Nevertheless, this was a good episode. I think the Empire felt a bit more confident here, pretty quickly catching onto the Rebels’ plan. Thrawn is a joy to watch.
Kallus’ reveal was pretty cool. I think they set it up well without being too obvious about it. I think it came at a good time too. I wasn’t even thinking about who Fulcrum II was.
8/10

Visions and Voices was another good one. Never expected to see Dathomir on this show but it worked really well. I was worried we’d only see Maul again towards the end of the season so it was good to see him here.
He does seem kinda pathetic pleading to Ezra. Like it’s hard to imagine TCW Maul doing all this and not killing him. Liked the details with Satine and hearing her theme again. The possessions were suitably creepy though it seemed a little too easy for Ezra to escape.
Thought it was really good. Would rank it among the next of Rebels. 8.5/10.
A few more good episodes and I should be able to forget Iron Squad ever happened.

“Saw, don’t. He’s unarmed”
Yeah that’s always been so important for you, Rex.

Saw is essentially the character I was looking for last season. He is a good contrast from the regular Ghost crew and makes things interesting. I wish we had a character like him who was around more often.

I was thinking that Rex and Saw got to know each other sometime during the Rebellion but all of that would have had to happen in Season 2 and I think we would have seen that.
I kinda doubt they’d even remember each other from Onderon. This could have worked way better with Ahsoka here, who Saw would no doubt have some resentment for.
But anyway Part 1 was a fine episode. Not amazing but good. Again I really like that they made it a two-parter. Allows for much more breathing room.
7/10 on the first one.

I really like Saw’s character in Part 2. You really see how much he’s changed since TCW. And sadly he’s one of the few characters that seems to have changed at all after 15 years of Imperial rule but I’ll take it.
I like how he challenges the heroes and proves there is some bad on their side. Kind of a dark reversal of “Heroes on Both Sides.” But I wish this kind of character was given to someone who would make more than a guest appearance, like maybe a mainstay at the Rebel base who believes the end justifies the means. This is an interesting dynamic and I wish it weren’t all wrapped up here.
Interesting that they brought in a sympathetic Geonosian. Wish they come up with a better name for him but ah well.
Retry good episode. Not great but would take this as a baseline quality.
7.5/10

I like this season so far, but it does still feel quite mishmash. I wish we were spending more time on Chopper Base. Feel like we haven’t really gotten to know the place.

I should’ve made a stolen stormtrooper armor count. Or a character wearing fingerless gloves count
