Pretty good. We learn a lot in this episode about the characters. Moff's background, Mando's name (though Pedro already revealed it) and what he looks like, Cara is from Alderaan which I assume is what made her join the cause. Finally the flashback stuff is wrapped up I was wondering about that. I was really hoping to see some clones or at least B1s in the clone wars sequence. A Jedi would've been cool too but ultimately it being a Mandalorian makes sense. They kind of looked like death watch though... idk.
I absolutely hated seeing the scout's miss their shots in the beginning though... Stop fucking showing that shit just once can we see the Empire not be pathetic. Also I don't understand how Greef was saying Mando could return to the guild. The reason for his getting kicked out was because he betrayed the empire. I'm not sure if you can work for the guild and not be square with the Empire because I'm sure they're a big client...
When Mando was dying the whole time I was thinking just get baby Yoda to pop a EZ force heal... They seriously shouldn't have brought that into canon
The astromech with arms and legs was interesting... Funny how he was based on a gondolier like the ones in Venice lol
Episode was pretty average until the dark saber reveal at the end... Finally some good fucking food. I'm glad Gideon survived I was worried they would kill him. The TIE sequence was really cool though probably my favorite part of the whole season

It sucks how season 2 will most likely be more of the same... IG is dead again, Cara and Greef are staying behind for no reason. I just want a crew man. It's just gonna be more episodic adventures with Mando and baby Yoda with perhaps Gideon and the dark saber popping up from time to time

I don't even remember what happened to the dark saber was Sabine the last one to have it? I wonder if she'll make it into the show. Based on how many legacy characters they brought into Rebels, I feel like we'll see some in Mando

This show is utter shit. What did I just watch? Some kind of incoherent fan film directed by a 12 year old? I wanted to quit watching half-way into the episode, it was just that bad. I only kept going because I thought there would maybe be some end of season twist that could save this train-wreck, guess they couldn't even do that. Their cliff-hanger is the totally non-threatening incapable imperial guy actually still being alive and having the darksaber? Why did no one check the ship to see if he may have survived? Is everyone in this show stupid? And why would I even feel shocked by this? Am I supposed to feel worried about the main characters getting defeated by this joke of a villain?
It is like they took the cringe from Rebels, the poor dialogue from the Prequels, the incoherent storylines from the Sequels and bad acting and lack of character development from the Star Wars holiday special, and threw it all together to create this series. Honestly, it is absolutely terrible. All it has going for it is baby Yoda, which I am starting to find annoying because Disney specifically made it to turn it into a internet hype for free advertisement... and it is working. I hate this more than Rebels somehow. In fact, the more Disney does with Star Wars the more I realize Rebels was not even that bad... If this awful disconnected mess did not have the Star Wars label on it it would have been cancelled by the time the fourth episode aired.
People will still love it I guess. The Internet will just keep kissing Disney's ass, which makes it even more frustrating. But I won't be watching season 2. I even regret watching this one. I will stick to my earlier point: Fuck Star Wars. I will watch TCW season 7 and be done with it. I might not even bother with the Obi-wan show.

This is not a TV show, this is an attempt at getting as much money as possible without having any creativity, also known as the Disney method.

Eh it’s fine. Kinda mindless but it’s not bad. Don’t know if I’ll watch Season 2. I wouldn’t have finished this season honestly if it wasn’t Star Wars.
But I’ll give this episode a 7/10. Didn’t feel as climactic as it probably should have.

I don't think it is that bad tbh. It's not really good either I guess mediocre or lackluster sum it up pretty well. I'm surprised you hated this episode so much though. I mean aside from the retard scout troopers I thought it was okay. Some stuff was kind of weird like how IG could clear out the whole city by himself but then at the end when they reached the sewer opening they couldn't kill the ten or so troops stationed there. I thought Gideon was actually the only threatening imperial on the show. We can't really see him be actually threatening since he was just introduced. I don't agree about checking to see if he's alive I don't think anyone really does that in stuff and would be a little awkward of a scene... But I do agree there's really no tension at all. It is a very kiddy show indeed. If you look beyond the live action violence you see this. I'm not sure why it's so hard for Disney to just make good stuff. They have like infinite money... I'm starting to have concerns about the Obi-Wan show as well and I just know TCW won't have the same quality it originally had

my ranking
7 (8/10) 8 (7/10) 3 (7/10 1 (9/10) 2 (7/10) 4 (6/10) 5 (4/10) 6 (3/10)
Total 51/80
I think every episode was for the most part at least somewhat enjoyable except 6 which was a dogshit cringe fest. I did expect more to happen in the finale though but I rank it higher up because there were still quite a few memorable moments for me personally

I am a bit conflicted on where 1 and 3 go actually. I put episode 7 as number one because it was almost exactly what I was hoping for after several poor episodes so it was pretty enjoyable. But like 1 and 3 were pretty solid as well. 1 gets a 9 because it was just a fantastic way to start the series imo. 3 is strong but a lot of it felt like more of the same from episode 1 so basically it felt repetitive and very predictable. Yet it was still enjoyable. Idk I'm gonna stick with my ratings though

I'm starting to have concerns about the Obi-Wan show as well and I just know TCW won't have the same quality it originally had I thought it was mediocre/lackluster until the finale, which pushed it into 'terrible' territory. It just felt so incoherent and rushed, with the main characters running around killing stromtroopers as if they were videogames enemies. I know the stormtroopers in the OT were not exactly a great threat either, but they did not lose 4 vs. 100. Then one moment the Mandalorian character seems to be dying and the woman (whatever her name was) gets all emotional, but the droid just fixes it all a minute later and nothing really mattered, and then the story continues the same way. Somehow the incapable empire killed all the Mandalorians (despite struggling to take down one during this episode) except one who just kind of stays around for some reason. A lot of what happens just makes no sense at all, like the Stormtroopers messing around early on and not being allowed to turn in the child, even though they were sent to retrieve it on Gideon's orders. Then at the end the main characters suddenly decide to just stick around on this planet. It is not like there could be more stormtroopers on their way... though I suppose stromtroopers are a joke anyway. But they apparently killed all stromtroopers on the planet with just the four of them? Alright then... And then Gideon tries to take them down with a ship, and he still fails and goes down almost as easily as the rest of the imperials. And in the end we end up in the exact same position as we did in episode 3 of this season, with the Mandalorian and the child leaving the planet on their own. The last 5 episodes were completely irrelevant and did not move along the plot. It is indeed a kid show, similar to Rebels, but it lacks a proper story. it pretends to be more... and people are acting like this is one of the best shows ever.

The female Mandalorian was talking about ancient myths about a group called 'jedi'. While the Jedi were around and basically public figures less than 30 years ago... they fought alongside the Mandalorians on several occasions. And if those Mandalorians that rescued the main character in the flashback were supposed to be Deathwatch fighting during the Clone Wars they probably knew all this... How are they only aware of Jedi existing through ancient Old Republic myths?

I think a lot of people love this show simply because it “feels like Star Wars” while the last five movies have all just felt like generic sci-fi worlds.
I agree that it does feel like Star Wars, give or take a Bill Burr. But for me at least, that’s not really enough to make a show good. I’m not so in love with the Star Wars galaxy that I’ll watch anything that takes place in it.
In addition to feeling like Star Wars, it would be nice to get a show with actual substance, solid writing, and three dimensional characters.

I thought this was a solid conclusion to S1. A lot happened, but I kind of expected more between Gideon and Mando. Other than his one address to them all near the beginning, we didn't get much of that.
Interesting that Gideon has the Darksaber... not sure what to make of it yet. I'm glad IG got more time in this episode, he's a pretty cool character. I really liked the gondola sequence in the lava, and it was nice to see more of Mando's flashback. I can't tell if those Mandalorians are supposed to allude to Death Watch, but it makes more sense that they were to ones to save him, rather than a Jedi or clones.

I know that it's weird for Mando and the others to not know much about the Jedi, but keep in mind that a lot of characters from the OT didn't really have much knowledge about them either, and those movies occur before this. So it's not really fair to critique this show for that without also striking the original films.
Also, the Star Wars universe is huge and the influence of the Jedi only went so far. I know the Clone War was a galaxy-wide conflict, but most people would have little reason to know a lot about the Jedi specifically. I imagine only the more affluent and powerful members of various systems, such as politicians or business leaders, would have more knowledge about the Jedi, especially as you move beyond the Core Worlds.
