I can't believe how long it's taken and what's occurred for Disney to finally offer the fans something they plainly wanted en masse. I've always thought this, and Vader's Rogue One proves it, that even a little fan service can go a long way.

This one seems to be legit (Deadline and Hollywood Reporter reported it), but it says that they're in negotiations. So it could still fall apart. About 2 years ago it was also rumored to be in negotiations (which was legit), but it got panned because Solo flopped at the box office. I think it'll go through this time. D23 is in a week so they might confirm it there.
This would be fantastic though. I think a 6-8 episode series is actually better for Kenobi than a movie.

I hope they don't bring Darth Vader into it. A lot of people want them to, but I think that's too much of a stretch. Darth Maul is a maybe, but Rebels really made it seem like they hadn't met since the Clone Wars.
I really wish Rebels didn't do the Maul vs. Kenobi fight. It should have been saved for this.

Honestly, I am skeptical about whether or not Disney can turn this into a series with a good story, but even if they don't we will get to see Ewan McGregor as Obi-wan again.
And of course the amount of meme potential of this series alone is going to keep Prequel Memes alive for another decade or two. So that's good.

Man Ewan looks so young.... never seen this photo before but hard to believe he’s gonna be playing Kenobi again soon. It’s like his age and the Star Wars timeline works out perfectly tbh. 10 year gap between TPM and AOTC, clone wars is 3 years, and then whatever gap between ROTS and the Kenobi show.  |
