Still my favorite story arc, and I personally like Carnage of Krell a bit more than The Lawless. The design for all of the Umbaran technology was great, and I wish we somehow could have seen some of it appear again. Even the sounds of their vehicles and holograms were cool.

I know giant amounts of time have gone by, but dammit, I'm finishing this rewatch one way or another! Plan of Dissent is probably the weakest here. Whilst that space battle setting was top notch, there's a less frantic, guns blazing beat going on here. I do kinda wonder if guys like Fives are somewhat "defective" considering their incredible independence for people that are almost designed to take orders. However it does mean we get a lot of different viewpoints. You have guys like Tup, who are meeker and don't want to be fully involved, ones who are a complete pet to the system and its chain of command like Dogma and those who just take the adrenaline junkie route like Hardcase (who by the way gets a fitting, though brief send off). I have to say though, Umbaran tech is all over the place in terms of advancement. You've got highly effective, complicated tanks and fighters, but your hologram's appearance and sound quality are utter garbage Seeing Krell going the execution route though should really make the clones openly consider if there's something wrong with this guy. Let's face it, Jedi's doctrine don't exactly give much support to that kind of option

And now we reach the one I've been desperate to talk about. Carnage of Krell. This episode can at times be utterly incredible as well as weird in my view. For one the clone on clones stuff is excellent. Waxer got badly wronged and we all felt it and titular carnage is astonishing. Vicious, pounding and effective enough to trick someone into thinking this is Adult Swim or something That said, Spider's right about Rex being way too subservient here. If he's gonna be that slow in doing the right thing, then he should've taken the shot on Krell as a sort of trade off. As for Krell himself, I have to say his turn of character here takes me off guard even to this day. Originally I thought this arc would end with him learning to understand and respect the clones, eventually nobly sacrificing himself or something. Buy was I so wrong It make sense for his villainous turn though. This is supposed to be the story about the 501st's "target practice" after all I'm annoyed we never get any Jedi reaction to his turn however. The ending's nice and foreboding, but I wanted some Jedi to at least react to this. Heck, it would've been even better of in some episode the Council discusses how and yet another seasoned Knight has gone rogue. Then again, they are a pretentious and holier-than-thou bunch, so I don't know Bottom line, I really liked it, if a bit taken aback by it. It's a little shaky in some spots, but Umbara once again delivers the goods.

Ok so I’m back over here to finish the arc is abandoned the rewatch on.
Plan of Dissent is one of my favorite episodes in the show, it’s interesting for the entire 22 minutes even if there isn’t much action. It develops characters we actually want to see and not characters that are throwaways like Onderon or D-Squad. Krell really comes out as a villain here than the previous two episodes, the first two episodes you can argue he is very reckless but here he is being super counter productive and it really makes you wonder that something is wrong with him.
I liked the references in this episode. Episode 4 Han and Episode 1 TPM and I also loved seeing that massive space battle although I have no idea why the seppies are fighting so hard for Umbara, that fleet was massive. Although I couldn’t really pick out any republic capital ships in that scene so I’m not sure where the republic is coming from.
Anyways I personally have almost nothing wrong with this episode and it’s super enjoyable and probably the highest point of the arc so it’s time to give out a very rare 10/10. It’s definitely not a 9 but I only do whole numbers.

Carnage of Krell is still very good 8 years later. Honestly the idea of a Jedi that doesn’t trust the clones is always very intriguing to me, I’m sure Krell ain’t the only one. In the EU General Kota from TFU disliked clones as well and trained his own militia which is why he easily survived order 66. It also seems that Krell did indeed have a vision of the republic being destroyed and perhaps that is another reason why he might have disliked clones because he could have saw a glimpse of order 66 or something.
Krell was a great villain though and I almost wouldn’t have minded if he escaped and joined the seppies for awhile. Although I feel like Dooku wouldn’t have accepted him as an apprentice. Krell was very cunning though and multiple times he turned Rex’s own words against him like with the Star fighters or when he asked for Fives and Jesse to have a stay of execution.
A lot happens in this episode and sometimes I criticize overly fast paced episodes but this time it fight mostly right, could have used a few more scenes but that’s not a huge deal. Would have preferred Rex to have executed Krell since does anyone really care about Dogma? However I think this could be seen as a good foreshadowing tool that Rex even with the chip still inside his head was never going to willingly go along with order 66. So not executing Krell could be seen as great character development.
Anyways this is another 10/10, not enough flaws for me to go down to a 9 and the overall character development is great here. I also really loved the animation of Umbara in general.

Final arc score is 37/40 or 92.5%...
The General was the only weak point because of the heavy plot armor. Although that was mildly on display in carnage as well given Krell could have easily killed all of them in the tower since it was so close quarters however one could argue Krell was toying with Rex and his closest soldiers waiting to kill them last.

That's true. You know he wanted Rex (and probably Fives) to die last.
