Do you still live in the Netherlands? And do you still have to travel for school? I’ve just been working a lot, been a store manager at a big chain retail store for the past couple years. Hoping this year I can start the process of getting my own store to run as an owner. It’s kinda weird lol but I enjoy what I do and left my schooling for it however I work a lot of hours. Yeah, still live in the Netherlands, but I moved a bit to north (I used to live pretty far south) though I am still in the same province. I actually avoided the entire Dutch housing crisis by winning a housing lottery, so there is no way I am leaving either. All my lessons have been online from march 2020 up until 2 weeks ago, so I haven't been travelling to university a lot, but I study in Amsterdam which is still a 1 hour train ride from where I live now... an improvement from where I lived before but I still kind of miss online lessons... And that sounds pretty cool. What kind of store are you going to start? Do you plan on continuing your studies at any point or are you just going to keep doing this? I actually tried working in a store for about a month and I thought it was hell... Yeah I guess online lessons are nice but I feel focused in a class environment. I do kinda miss school, I like learning new stuff especially history/ politics related but I had an opportunity and took it. My credits are still good for 10 years and I can actually finish my studies online tbh which I’ve been considering. There’s some institutions that do online learning all the time in Canada due to how big this place is. And it’s not really starting a store but becoming an owner for a franchise basically. Loblaws is one of the largest Canadian companies and they franchise their stores out to people. It’s a grocery chain, essentially my next step is to get onto the mentorship program where you learn how to run a store and travel around a lot supporting stores that need help. After 2-3 years of that I should have my own store. I have a lot of good references and the store I currently manage is one of the busiest in western Canada so I shouldn’t have an issue getting accepted.

Man I'm really regretting my finance major but it's too late to do anything since I'll get my degree in a couple months. But I have like no interest in that field, everything seems super boring and hard lol. I really haven't learned anything because I basically cheated my way through most of my business classes... 💀 But tbh I feel like it's not realistic to retain all that material anyway and most of what you need will be learned on the job. At least I hope it's like that...
I kinda wish I studied some part of the film/entertainment industry. I feel like that stuff can be a lot of fun but the main reason for not pursuing that is how competitive the industry is and the lack of job stability. 3D modeling is also something I find fascinating I've been making some of my own designs to 3D print as a hobby but that could've been another interesting career path perhaps

Well, luckily I plan on doing the final year of my studies in Tilburg, which is only a 15 minute train ride away from where I live now. So I don't have to worry about long travel times for offline lessons much longer. It is kind of risky though, because I would be switching from a bachelor in the humanities field to a master in law. Do you also have the option of doing a parttime study in Canada? Some older people do that here, which means the study is spread out among more years and you can do it next to your work. Seems like that might be good in your situation. Never heard of Loblaws, but if I look it up it looks like one of those North-American 'hypermarkets'. We don't have grocery stores like that here, even the largest are significantly smaller. Seems like that would be pretty hard to manage. Isn't it very stressful?

I didn't study that much, I passed the courses because I have a decent memory and picked up a lot in class, but well most of what I learned wasn't really new or interesting... and definitely not useful. So I went to do a second study and now I am actually learning relevant things. I am now part of the small group of people in Europe who actually understand how the European Union works. But I guess you cannot really get another degree in the US with all that debt right?

It can be a little stressful but honestly it’s not all that bad. Once you find the right people and what not. A lot of things are computer automated now days as well. I have the option of part time study but I work 60 hours a week usually so idk just kinda like having my free time when I want it. I’m not really set to a specific schedule though, I can come and go as I please for the most part as long as I get my stuff done. Master in law sounds cool though, I was honestly going that route. Was doing a bachelor in Political Science and hoping to do law after. I do want to finish my bachelor cause it’s only 1.5 years more

I can't believe it's taken me so long to do it, but I've finally started playing KOTOR. Honestly, I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. The way this game just erupts with adding to the lore and building this era of Star Wars with so much detail is kind of crazy for something from 2003.

Tatooine and Kashyyyk early are good, gets you some of the best companions.

You should be able to go there already though, you should be going there after every planet. But it depends on what version of the game you play. The Xbox version doesn’t have Yavin actually.

I’d highly recommend the restored content mod, it’s literally just game content that was in the files but not fully implemented before release. It’s on ModDB.com safe website. Might also be on steam workshop now days but not sure.

Very excited for season 6 in less than a month. I haven't watched Breaking Bad in several years, but I think it's fair to say at this point BCS is pretty much its equal based on story and characters. The last 3 episodes of season 5 were absolutely phenomenal.

I can't believe it's taken me so long to do it, but I've finally started playing KOTOR. Honestly, I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. The way this game just erupts with adding to the lore and building this era of Star Wars with so much detail is kind of crazy for something from 2003. I burned so many hours on KOTOR when I first started playing it (about 7-8 years old lol). Such an excellent game. I like that it's a game that rewards you for poking around and following up on strange and unusual things that you encounter. I also tend to like the companions in both games and KOTOR II adds an extra layer to those interactions. The first game is from 2003 so the scale is limited to an extent but I still find myself returning to it. You said that you're playing it on Steam/PC so I'd highly recommend "Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge" as a mod to download for the first game. It adds a large amount of content and I think it's definitely something you have to do at least once. However, it'd probably be better to do a clean playthrough first and then try that out on a subsequent playthrough. Cool to see you're playing this game since I think it's really high-tier content especially for the EU. There's due to be a remake soon and I'm modestly worried that they may not live up to expectations, but on the other hand KOTOR with 2022-style graphics and scale seems enormously promising. It's a shame that the second game will likely not get that treatment because it's more esoteric in its themes and so has a markedly different feel even compared to the first game, though I'd say they pulled it off very well personally.

But idk it's hard for me to get into older games with the dated graphics and mechanics I think I used to be more tolerant towards older games but at a certain point a switch did flip inside of me and it became significantly harder to adapt to more dated game setups. For instance, I've found it hard to return to the old Fallout/Elder Scrolls games because the whole framework can just feel so stilted at times. I revisited New Vegas successfully and I might go back to Oblivion at some point, but I'm guessing that my less plastic and more mature brain is less willing to fully invest myself into content like that. KOTOR has aged better in this regard but it probably depends if it clicks for you. If it does then I think it'll be a great experience.

Not sure how the remake will turn out, though I think it'll have details from the second game peppered into it to make the two stories more cohesive I'm guessing. Makes me wonder if they really will redo Kotor II as well. I mean this remake is bound to make the kind of money necessary to make a sequel happen

I thought season 3 was much better than 1-2, but that's because of stuff with Chuck and more BB characters coming in. I agree the early seasons were much slower, but that's kind of the style Gilligan and Gould employ. Everything they've done in this universe shows that they know what they're doing and there's amazing payoff. I'm not sure where else they could go after BCS ends. If Lalo makes it out alive, they could always try something with him parallel to/post-BB, even as a limited series. But I feel like the creators kind of want to stop after this since they'll tie everything up nicely.

The only thing they could maybe do is a Gus show cause there’s a lot of holes in his story but I don’t think they will. No way Lalo survives, Gus tells hector in BB that all his family is dead and he’s the last Salamanca.

This might change everything…. That’s weird. I totally forgot that season 2 BB scene. But Jimmy thinks Lalo is alive, although Gus might know for certain he is dead at that time.
