And it's such a huge shock too. I thought with Rebels and now Resistance, The Clone Wars was pretty much left behind for good by Disney. This is pretty amazing that the show can come back over five years after it was canceled.

Whenever I see someone discuss Star Wars online (on non-Star Wars related platforms) someone will bring up TCW to say how amazing it was and how it improved the Prequels. I think Disney realized they made a mistake by cancelling a series with that reputation and popularity. Say what you will about Rebels, I know some people really like it, but it never got to the levels of quality and popularity TCW got. |

Only downside is we already know a lot of the things that will happen. Yeah, I bet Dave kind of regrets doing the comics and novels, as well as revealing what happens in Siege of Mandalore. But I don't blame him at all since at the time he thought the show was done for good. But to be fair, I think a lot of people here would have spoiled things for themselves anyways. Just like the Season 5 Mandalore arc. |

So it's been confirmed to be 12 episodes. I guess if it's really popular they might do more. Honestly though, I'll take it. I assume it will be:
4 for the Utapau arc
4 for Bad Batch
4 for Siege of Mandalore

If this is the case I hope we won't get the Utapau and Bad Batch arcs though. We already kind of saw those. I hope we get something new. One arc I do want to see is the Ventres/Voss arc though. I read the book and I think it would have had some great moments for TV... also it unlike the Utapau and Bad Batch arc it would tie up some of TCW's lose ends. |

If they release Siege of Mandalore I doubt they will ever do more episodes though. That was supposed to be the end. Once they release that its over.

Actually, to set up Siege of Mandalore they NEED to do Son of Dathomir. If they just have Maul show up on Mandalore again those that did not read the comic would have no idea what happened. So I guess Son of Dathomir is pretty much confirmed. |

Obviously I would love to see them fully animated but if it's only 12, I'd rather let them stay story reels and get some new things. Yeah if I had to guess it would be that it's just cheaper to put the finishing touches on them and then mainly focus on Siege of Mandalore. In their defense, TCW had some of the best animation for an animated series ever so it's going to be expensive to recreate that. But I do agree, I'm really hoping for some more new stuff. |

They released parts of it in story reel form. And since the Son of Dathomir arc was supposed to be season 6 I am guessing that one was almost done too. |

Yeah, Dark Disciple was going to be eight. The first four (up until Vos gets captured by Dooku) would have been in Season 7 and the next four would have been in Season 8.
